Rise of

The Dark Prince

Denzel Dormammu

AKA E̴R̴E̴B̴O̴S̴

Where it all began

Denzel was born in Compton, California, but resided in Watts in his youth to a single mother who carried both resilience and secrets. She was a Black woman with deep roots in hoodoo and voodoo traditions passed down from her family in Louisiana but with complications, he was diagnosed with a tumor in his head. Denzel’s childhood was hard — growing up in poverty, surrounded by gang influence, and constantly battling anger issues. By the time he was a teenager, he was running with an LA gang known as the Bloods, throwing himself into fights and violence to hide the pain of feeling like the world had already written him off. One night, he was doing a shoot out and it went sideways resulting in him going to prison at the age of sixteen. Being twenty-one years old, he was still in prison for murdering several members of the rival gang building a name for himself in the gang world, but he soon would learn that not all respect was good respect. One day, the prison had a riot, and Denzel was in the epicenter of it fighting the leader of an Aryan gang in prison and though he managed to kill the leader, the leader damaged his tumor causing what should be a fatal bleed in his head. He was going to die and his mother felt that in her heart. She cried out to the ancestors for help but nothing, she knew that the prison hospitals in California would rather let him die. So, she turned to the dark forces and pleaded to the Lord of Darkness, Dormammu.Dormammu, amused by her courage, agreed — but twisted her wish. He not only saved Denzel, he rewrote him. The tumor was purged, but in its place, Dormammu altered Denzel’s very DNA, fusing it with Faltine essence — the same living fire that makes up Dormammu’s being. Overnight, Denzel was reborn as something more than human: a hybrid, a living fragment of the Dark Dimension. One year later, Denzel was mysteriously released from prison on good behavior that might've been tampered with by an unknown minion of Dormammu and now was walking the streets of Watts.
At first, he struggled with what he had become. His reflection flickered with embers of fire. His emotions triggered strange bursts of magic. And one night, when he witnessed a racist cop harassing a young Black child on a street corner, Denzel lost control. His fury ignited his inherited power — and he blasted the officer with hellfire, leaving only chaos in his wake. It was then he realized: the darkness in him wasn’t just power, it was a calling.
Now 23 years old, Denzel walks a razor’s edge. He has inherited both strength and curse: a connection to Dormammu, who whispers in his mind, trying to corrupt him and drag him deeper into darkness. He’s caught between two worlds — the grounded reality of Watts, where he protects his community, and the looming shadow of the Dark Dimension, where he is seen as nothing less than royalty and a future ruler. He ended up going into the construction business and became a private contractor business in attempt to have a normal life to balance his new hybrid life out making his own money as an entrepreneur. Though his clients question how he is able to do efficient construction work by himself, he doesn't reveal that he uses magic to help perfect his projects.Sorcerers of Kamar-Taj have begun to take notice of him as his very existence made that cold feeling become hypothermic. His existence destabilizes the magical balance of Earth. To Strange, Denzel is a threat waiting to explode. To Wong, he’s a kid worth saving. And to Dormammu, he’s an heir, destined to one day surpass his father’s power and potentially take the throne of the Dark Dimension.
Denzel knows his destiny: he will either become a weapon of destruction under his father’s influence, or carve out his own path as something new — a protector born of fire and darkness, standing against the same shadow that created him. Every day is a battle, not just against the streets that raised him, but against the darkness that burns in his own veins.

Denzel's Hero Profile:

When Denzel loses control and his true Faltine essence takes over, he transforms into a towering, nightmarish figure of violet fire and shadow. His body becomes a living furnace of dark energy, armored in obsidian-like plates that pulse with crackling purple lightning. His very outline seems unstable, wreathed in tendrils of flame that twist and coil as if alive. His face is the most terrifying aspect — a skull-like visage with jagged, predatory teeth glowing white-hot against the void of his form. Where his eyes should be, burning voids blaze with endless, violet fire, staring through souls with cosmic fury. Black, hornlike protrusions curl back from his head, marking him unmistakably as Dormammu’s heir.At the center of his chest, a circular core of seething energy burns like a black sun, acting as both his heart and a gateway to the Dark Dimension. Each beat of this core ripples through his body in arcs of crackling power, making the air hum with otherworldly static. His claws drip with violet flame that doesn’t just scorch flesh but sears spirit, leaving those struck weakened in both body and will.In this form, Denzel’s presence itself is suffocating — mortals feel dread, fear, and the instinct to flee. He is less a man and more a storm given shape: the living embodiment of Dormammu’s corruption, a reminder that he carries not just fire, but a fragment of the Dark Dimension’s madness within his veins.

Powers and Skills:

As a hybrid, Denzel has been granted power unlike no other with his DNA reforged and reborn from the madness of the Dark Dimension and Dormammu himself. Dormammu did want his son to serve by his side, so he ensured that his very essence was infused into him rebirthing him into the proper heir of the Dark Dimension. (Disclaimer: All of these abilities are still in development as he is still learning how to use his powers.)Sorcery: Though untrained compared to Strange, Denzel can instinctively cast destructive spells, summon fire constructs, or shield himself with mystical wards fueled by Dark Dimension energy. His magic is chaotic, dark, raw, and often dangerous even to himself, but it gives him versatility beyond brute force. He's currently stealing spellbooks and trying to learn sorcery like conjuration, illusions and other spells to aid in his mission to protect the world.Darkfire Manipulation: Generates and controls violet-black mystical fire inherited from Dormammu. This fire can burn flesh, metal, and even mystical energy. His fire doesn’t just burn physically — it scorches the soul, leaving victims weakened or mentally shattered.Flight: Though he can fly without using his flames, when channeling his fire, he can propel himself through the air in bursts of violet-black flame. In true form, his flight is more stable and closer to high-speed levitation, allowing him to maneuver like a living comet of darkfire.Enhanced Strength: Even in his hybrid form, Denzel’s body carries traces of Faltine might. He’s much stronger than a regular human. He can bench-press cars, punch through titanium, and overpower multiple armed men. (Example: In other words, in base form he is as strong as Super boy (DC comics) equivalent in terms of physical strength, speed, and senses but not stronger than Hulk or Thor.)Durability: Can tank blunt trauma, survive falls from the atmosphere, and resist bombs. (though not invincible).Energy Blasts: Can hurl concentrated bolts of raw dark energy capable of destroying vehicles, breaking walls, or stunning superpowered foes.Dimensional Awareness: Can sense rifts, mystical activity, or intrusions from other realms (like sorcerer spells or Dark Dimension portals).Teleportation Sparks: Limited ability to blink short distances in a flash of violet flame. (Longer teleportation is possible but dangerous, as it risks Dormammu’s influence bleeding in.)Astral Sight: Can see spirits, souls, and magical energy signatures invisible to normal humans.Mystical Telepathy: Has the ability to communicate via through the mind and can cast illusion spells to help manipulate his victims.Dormammu’s Whisper: Sometimes Dormammu can communicate directly with him, offering forbidden knowledge of magic — dangerous but useful.

Psychological & Thematic Abilities

Duality of Control: Can maintain his human self through discipline; losing control triggers his Faltine form. His struggle against corruption is both a weakness and strength.Royal Birthright: As heir to Dormammu, demons and creatures of the Dark Dimension instinctively recognize him as a prince. Many will serve, some will rebel.Potential for Ascension: It’s hinted he could eventually surpass Dormammu himself, becoming a cosmic-level god of the Dark Dimension.

Transformation – True Faltine Form
In true form, he’s Hulk-tier strength mixed with explosive dark hellfire magic
(The monstrous form shown below is his Faltine Form)

Enhanced Strength: Vastly stronger than his human form, capable of tossing tanks, earth shattering punches, and matching enhanced beings able to make him go toe to toe with the likes of beings such as world breaker Hulk.Superhuman Durability: His Faltine body shrugs off bullets, blades, and most conventional weapons. Only advanced tech or magic can pierce it.Regeneration: Can rapidly heal from wounds, even regrow lost tissue or recover from burns/blows that would kill humans.Darkfire Manipulation: Generates and controls violet-black mystical fire inherited from Dormammu. This fire can burn flesh, metal, and even mystical energy. His fire doesn’t just burn physically — it scorches the soul, leaving victims weakened or mentally shattered.
Hellflame Aura: In his Faltine form, his entire body radiates destructive flames that burn anything near him without conscious effort.
Intimidation Presence: His aura instills terror and dread in mortals; weaker enemies may freeze or collapse in fear when he appears.Size & Mass Shift : In full Faltine form, he can grow slightly larger, towering over humans in a more demonic presence to a building and a half large, however the more unstable he becomes he begins to grow larger, and his dark power can consume his own soul if not tempered.

Weaknesses:

Great power, comes great responsibility
Denzel’s true weakness isn’t lack of power — it’s the cost of wielding it. His hybrid soul leaves him vulnerable to mystical control, astral assault, and Dormammu’s direct influence. In battle, sorcery and soul-based attacks pierce his defenses, while emotionally, his struggle to stay human is his most fragile point. The closer he comes to unleashing his full Faltine potential, the closer he risks losing himself entirely.

Weaknesses: Although he has physical strength on the level of something similar to an Asgardian level such as Valkryie (MCU Version) in his human form, he can be killed when in his human state and he can be overpowered in his full Faltine form though it will take near celestial level energy.1. Loss of Control (Duality of Self)His greatest weapon (the Faltine form) is also his greatest liability. If he loses his grip on his humanity, Dormammu’s influence can fully overwhelm him, turning him into an extension of his father’s will rather than his own person. The longer he stays in his true form, the stronger Dormammu’s whispers become.2. Mystic CountersDespite his raw power, trained sorcerers (Strange, Wong, Wanda) can bind or redirect Faltine fire. Wards, sigils, and dimensional seals can contain or weaken him, since his powers are tied to extra-dimensional energy.3. Soul VulnerabilityHis Darkfire burns souls — but it also exposes his own. If an enemy with soul or astral manipulation (e.g., Ghost Rider, Scarlet Witch, Doctor Voodoo) targets him, his hybrid nature makes him unstable. His human soul is still fragile compared to his father’s endless essence.4. Dormammu’s ClaimDormammu literally owns a part of him. His rebirth means his essence is partly Dormammu’s. Any spell, invocation, or pact tied to Dormammu can influence, weaken, or compel him.5. Emotional TriggersHis past in Watts (gang ties, friends lost, family sacrifice) keeps him grounded but also makes him volatile. Enemies can exploit his rage, guilt, or grief to force him into transformation, accelerating Dormammu’s influence.6. Dimensional InstabilityHis teleportation sparks and Faltine flames risk tearing small rifts in reality. Overuse makes him unstable and vulnerable to backlash. Attempting long-distance dimensional travel could backfire — leaving him stranded, drained, or even trapped between realms.

Rules and Disclaimer(s)

This character is inspired by the Marvel Comics figureDoyle Dormammu
but reimagined in a deeper, more narrative-driven way for my own MCU-style retelling. Rather than simply being Dormammu’s son with latent power, this version delves into his internal struggle, human ties, and the push and pull of two worlds—street life and cosmic legacy. Think of it as an indie-MCU take on Doyle: rooted in the comics, but reshaped and elevated with more storytelling weight.
Crossovers are welcomed as well as fandomless/OCsTriggers and language will be present in RPs for realism, things like gore may also be present. He does use Black/AAVE slang and is from the hood as a reminder.Lewd themes and posts will be present but not my primary focus. Nothing against lewd accounts but I am very story driven and love to plot. Don't expect lewd right off the bat, if there isn't any chemistry, no lewd will be present.
